I happened to be flying into Portland today just as Mt. Saint Helens decided to throw ash thirty thousand feet into the air. Here is the view off the right side of our plane (as seen through the low quality lens of my Treo).
Busiest travel day?
Today is supposed to be the busiest travel day of the year. I don't want to be left out, so I chose today to fly home for some family time, turkey, and college football. Expecting the worst, I get to SFO a full two hours before my flight.
What do I find?
Empty security lines. (A TSAer tells me the rush came early this morning.) Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope my flight home is as uneventful.

I found another one of those Windows pay phones, this time in the San Jose Marriott. This one is "ready to be shutdown". The other one was blue screened. I'm starting to think that Windows may not be the best choice of OS for pay phones.
