This sign from my work place is funnier if you read it in your Dr. Evil voice and make the "quote signs" with your fingers.
A few days ago I got an official-looking email from PayPal letting me know that my account information needed to be updated. Happy to oblige, I clicked the link and it opened a web page with a form that I could use to update my
information. Then my Spidey sense started tingling.
Upon further examination, I realized that this wasn't PayPal's site! It was some scam artist trying to trick me into giving away my credit card information! I was this close to becoming a victim of an online scam known as phishing. I'm posting this in the hopes that it helps educate people about this increasingly popular scam.
Continue reading...This week was my company's first annual user conference in San Diego. I learned a lot, including the formula for a great geek party: lots of free food, drink, video games, and battling robots (video above).

I found another one of those Windows pay phones, this time in the San Jose Marriott. This one is "ready to be shutdown". The other one was blue screened. I'm starting to think that Windows may not be the best choice of OS for pay phones.
